3th / 4th floor

Collaboration with Vincent Knopper, autumn 2010. The work consists of the view from the elevator at the third and the fourth floor of our school building. We completely synchronised the two views by searching for exactly the same chairs, trash bins, information on the info boards, by painting the skirting boards and replacing the speakers on the sealing. In this documentation you see the view out of the elevator when going up from the 3th to the 4th floor

We hope that by discovering the duplication in the views out of the elevator you become aware that the scene that you had just taken for reality, created for practical or coincidental reasons, is not what you thought it was. Every single detail on either one or maybe both floors turns out to be placed consciously. We like playing with confusion about what is created spontaneously and what consciously, about what is art and what is life.
