• I See (2012)

The work ‘I See’ consisted of a small solid version of one of the lighting-shafts of the exhibition space and a set of instructions. The actual lighting-shaft became my work and at the same time stayed just a functional part of reality: a duality that fascinates me. The instructions where for one person to stand with the object in his/her hands in the ladies toilet, and to watch another person who stood on the highest step of the emergency staircase. The second person, standing on the staircase, could see the lighting-shaft and also the first person standing in the toilet. This work was presented as a part of the show THE RESEARCH AND DESTROY DEPARTMENT OF BLACK MOUNTAIN COLLEGE, a group exhibition in W139 curated by Jean Bernard Koeman.
